Listening to Yourself: Evaluating Your Impressions

The date is over, you've made it home, and now you face the main question: what's next? Sometimes the answer is obvious—sparks were flying, and you're already counting down the days until you see them again. But often, feelings are mixed. To figure things out, it's best to tune into your own internal state.
The first criterion: how did you feel around this person? Did you feel comfortable being yourself, or did you constantly feel the need to play a role just to be liked? If you feel a surge of energy after the meetup, that's a fantastic sign. On the other hand, if you feel drained or simply relieved that it's finally over, it's probably not worth pursuing.

The second criterion: was the interest mutual? Did your date ask questions about you, or did they only talk about themselves? Healthy relationships are built on an equal exchange of attention. Don't give out 'second chances' just out of politeness or a fear of being alone. However, if you sense genuine interest and a baseline level of comfort, absolutely go for that second date—first impressions are often slightly blurred by nerves.
